通过对《剑桥雅思真题》1-7的分析，并结合各位雅思考生的考试回忆后发现，雅思听力内容中涉及了很大程度的国外文化背景知识的先容。雅思听内容主要是围绕着在英国或澳大利亚的生活和学习展开的。比如Section1&2一般以生活场景为主，如：租房、口试、旅游等。在Section1中，最常出现的场景有：租房场景(house renting)，经常会涉及到房屋样式(house type)、付款方式(ways of payment)、周边环境(environment)、内部设施(facilities)、房客的住房要求(requirements)及房东的租房规则(house rules)等话题讨论。而section 3&4则一般是以学习场景和科普内容为主。比如在section 3中，常见的场景包括：新学校先容，课程安排先容，选课咨询。内容经常涉及：学校设施 (teaching facilities)和师资气力(teacher resources)的先容，学生或教授关于一个课题的研究(course research)，调查报告(survey)，论文(dissertation)和学习方法(learning methods)的讨论。
